Ugandans in Queensland (UIQ) is a member-run community organisation supporting Ugandans and friends of Uganda across Queensland — from newly-arrived families to established professionals and business owners.
Our community has been gathering since 2009, and became a registered incorporated association in 2016 (ABN 74 364 989 467). UIQ is also a member of the Uganda Global Forum, connecting our community to the wider Ugandan diaspora network worldwide.
We help every Ugandan in Queensland feel at home — offering practical support when people arrive, celebrating our culture, and creating opportunities for families and businesses to grow.
We are volunteer-led, transparent, and open to all who share our values of belonging and mutual support.
A volunteer team elected by members. Reach any of us through the contact page.
The strategy defines UIQ's priorities for 2026 to 2029.
UIQ brings together smaller communities from across Queensland. Each keeps its own identity, leadership and gatherings — and together we are stronger. Need a contact? Let us know via the contact page.
